Excellent direction by Ridley Scott. With Michael Douglas and Ken Takakura more than adequately supported by Andy Garcia and Yusaka Matsuda.

Visually enticing from a master of cinematic light, tells the story of a head on clash between a bent NYC detective caught in a power play between yakuza hoods set brefiely in NYC and then shifts to Osaka. Been a while since I’ve seen this but for a 1989 film it still delivers.

I enjoyed this more than I expected. It's very clearly Wes Anderson inspired (think Moonrise Kingdom set in Nazi Germany), so if you're into that sort of thing, you'll probably like it.

Simply great, Burl Ives gave a a great show perhaps even overshadowing P.Newman and E.Tayor, hard to blieve he didn't even get an Oscar nomination for that. The whole was a jounrey into psychology and emotions of (dysfunctional) family and perhaps showed vulnerability of human character to emotional harm.

Gangs of New York while sick. I was mostly watching while on my laptop. I was thinking how there's parts that "already" feel dated or, at least, no longer trendy. And then i realized the film was nearly 20 years old......
