I am pretty sure I have seen that but I don't remember a thing about it.

Same. I may have seen in, just have no recollection. Looked fresh to me when I caught it.

I don’t think I ever saw this prior to this week. Not bad at all. Leo is always good in these type stuff of roles (Blood Diamond, etc).

He plays a CIA agent looking to flush out a cell.
Crowe was a secondary player in this flick.

3.5/5.
Agree. I had the same experience: expected little, was more than pleasantly surprised (and I generally dislike LDC).

Crowe was pretty good in the minor role, but the movie in a way proved that he really needs to be a lead.

I saw this years ago when it first came out. Caught it again today.

I will try not to to give anything away.

Ellen Page is brilliant as a teen with a revenge plan vs the equally engaging Patrick Wilson. It’s these two on screen 99% of the time!

I knew i liked this when I first saw it......4/5!

Stunning movie, completely lived up to the hype and subverted my expectations. My favorite film of the year so far, though there are still many more to see. I cannot wait to see it again.

Has anyone else ever noticed that almost all great South Korean movies have someone getting stabbed, often multiple people?

Last night’s viewing; a terrific little movie that plays with the conventions of ‘80s coming of age movies:

Not that I have seen nearly enough SK films to know if this is accurate, but is this just because gun violence is significantly less common in South Korea?

For example, you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong in saying “almost all great American movies have someone getting shot, often multiple people”

That might be accurate.

Came across this after stumbling on a top 100 horror movie list (here). I forgot the joys of watching c-movies. Going to try to do a horror movie a night until November.

I remember the ad campaign for that movie, and reading about it in Fangoria. I finally watched it sometime in the 90s. Fun stuff!
