Went on a little bit of a Seijun Suzuki tear with a brief detour through animated Tanuki nutsacks.

I finally watched Synecdoche New York. I thought it was splendidly flawed, much like Blade Runner. They both have a great purpose.

How is this? Might try to watch it over the next few days. I thoroughly miss the series Discovery was running, Everest Beyond the Limit.

Picked up Wall Street sequel on iTunes today, and plan to carve out some time to watch it.

Hi Gnatty, yeah I'm an Everest freak. These doco's are hypnotic.
This one is fascinating and almost impossible to find, especially online.
2006 incident examining the morality issues of leaving a half-dead person to die or help him,
if it's even possible to do so.
It runs under an hour.
Yes! Everest Beyond the Limit (Season 2) would also cover this same incident,
but not to this depth.

Too bad they botched season 3. It is available on the Bit Torrent circuit.
I think no season 4 is forthcoming, at least not this year.
Between the months of January-March, HIMEX expedition leader, Russell Brice usually leaves a 'the cameras are back' message on his online journal. No such entry in 2010, therefore, no season 4.
Hopefully 2011 will give us something.

I watched Wall Street 2.

Story was good.
Script was pretty good.
Mulligan and Douglas were good.

But holy crap. Oliver Stone thought I would take a 23-year seriously while his character served up Wall Street? Jesus. And some of the editing and visual effects were incredibly corny.

A bunch of Jim Thompson adaptions: The Getaway (McQueen not Baldwin), The Grifters, After Dark, My Sweet, The Killer Inside Me. The Grifters and After Dark, My Sweet were best. Love noir-ish/hard-boiled stuff.

Looking forward to Enter the Void and Black Swan.
