Netflix keeps pulling me in on their original action movies, and while they're occasionally decent (The Old Guard, The Adam Project) or verging on good (Extraction) too often they're forgettable (Red Notice, Without Remorse). This is definitely in the forgettable category. Really solid cast, and I feel like there could've been a good movie in there somewhere, but it just didn't work.

That was very forgettable.

I saw the poster and thought....I may have caught that. I just checked my queue and it is checked and the bar which shows how much I watched is at the end.

So I saw it and can't tell you anything about it outside...they robbed something?

Yep, that's basically it. A group of retired ex- Special Forces guys get the band back together to play one last show. Only instead of doing it for flag and country, this one's off the books and strictly for the money. They make a plan to steal a ton or so of cash (literally) from a generic drug lord's safe house out in the jungle of some generic South American country. The plan is good, but why would highly trained, extremely skilled, well disciplined military dudes who worked together as a unit for years follow the plan when they could do really, obviously, stupid things that can only end badly?

I feel like maybe it was intended to be more of a psychological drama about guys reassessing their personal codes and sense of morality, but then partway in, somebody decided to turn it into a big budget, star driven heist/action flick, and it failed at both.

Unwatchable. To make it worse, the names Redfly and Ironhead were stolen from two real dudes--certified badasses. Read Kill Bin Laden.

It leans heavily into the nostalgia with some scenes and music choices, but ultimately managed to balance that quite nicely - and of course, that’s in part what we’re here for.

Build up is rather slow and the story's very thin with a super contrived setup.

But: if you’re willing to go along for the ride, it’s well worth it! You’ll even be awarded with some nicely cheesy 80's style development to the final action scene.

Definitely one to catch at the cinema to get the most of the parts that matter.

Had high expectations for this and they were pretty much met.

Fistful of Dollars ripped this off so much, Sergio Leone was successfully sued by Kurosawa.

I love this movie so much. It and Throne of Blood are my favorites by Kurosawa.
