That and there’s literal scenes where people with weapons just stand there and scream while he slowly walks towards them from 15 feet away and that don’t do a thing. I know there’s horror tropes, but all of these people are barely functional meatbags.

I'm shocked by this turn of events.

Doon is visually awesome (shades of Jodorowsky), very grand and epic and...a bit flat. I can't think of any particularly memorable lines, the most interesting characters have barely any screen time, and the Blade Runner retread soundtrack is adequate but uninspired.

Some of the best moments are hurt by the sound mix - I could barely follow the Gom Jabbar scene, for example.

I enjoyed it, and will certainly watch it again, but it definitely missed some opportunities.

I had a hard time understanding why missiles, explosives, drones, guns and handheld/airplane-mounted lasers that cut through everything were available and used, but the palace guards used swords. Also, if the personal armor thing caused a worm feeding frenzy, why not used mannequins and those as decoys to save people?

It all gets ruined by too much logic.

Huh? Haven't seen it yet but lasers hitting those energy shields would set off nuclear explosions so, they shouldn't have been using lasers at all.
