Enjoyed this a lot. Has its flaws but was kind of a relief and refreshing to watch something that had lots and lots and lots of words

We started Tokyo Drift tonight and I am pleasantly surprised so far. It's not going to crack the BFI 100 or anything but it's not awful.I approve of F&F, they’re dumb and fun, despite becoming action movies. DC movies suck donkey dick. The only OK ones were Wonder Woman (not that 1984 trash) and Shazam.
but it's not awful.
Underrated classic.Tokyo Drift
Underrated classic.
This coming from the guy who likes the sleep inducing Blade Runner 2049.You should reconsider your entire life, and all the awful decisions you made, and feel very bad.
It was uh pretty bad. Besides a couple of moments of decent hand to hand choreography it was surprisingly drawn out and boring. Way too much plot. Should have been a tight 90, minimal plot, just tons of fights. Watching the YouTube super clips of all the fatalities from the games is more interesting tbh
I guess I really should not have made any Oscar predictions having seen only 2 of the 10 films this year. That said I am even more terrible at Oscar predictions when I have seen 5 of 5 or 10 of 10.Yes, Oldman slipped into the role like a warm bath. Good observation about the direction, some effort to hold it all together and keep it (relatively) taut.

Still, I was somewhat "validated" in that "Mank" did win more awards than "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom", which I found beautiful to look at but somehow not that interesting beyond the vuisuals (and not an Oscar performance from Boseman despite the obvious predictable sentiment...and subsequent outrage last night). I really thought Oldman would win Best Actor, but have not seen Hopkins.
I do look forward to seeing "Nomadland", "The Father", "Judas", "Minari", etc. Have you seen them?
I did watch and would have voted for the documentary winner, "My Octopus Teacher". It is truly astonishing, very beautiful and moving.
