Speaking of which, I watched "Solaris" today (Tarkovsky's, not the remake) and despite it being a brilliant-ass movie I was also sawing logs midway through.

Caligula was so bad, it was kind of good.

I actually was. That's not what I would've wanted to see but that's what I was expecting considering all the hype about it.

Sure Caligula was bad, but Helen Mirren!

I watched the original of Solaris on VHS a loooong time ago. It's long enough that it was on two tapes. It's such an inert story that I didn't realize that I had watched the tapes in the wrong order until the 2nd tape abruptly ended in the middle of a scene I recognized.

I did the same thing with Gone With The Wind. The "first half" of the movie made a lot more sense after watching the "second half"

And by first half, I mean the second half. And by second half, I mean the first half.

Watched the 1st part of the recent Atlas Shrugged movie, not as bad as it could have been. Not that good, though.

Saw Knight & Day last night. Fun movie. Cameron Diaz has a great bod, is pretty hot but needs to keep the make up on, has man hands.

Up in the Air - Not really my type of movie but I can see why people liked it so much. It has good characters and brings up many questions that probably face most/all working stiffs.

Something Wild - Jonathan Demme's best film in my opinion. Unpredictable and wildly entertaining.

Adrift in Tokyo - Good movie all around. Nice scenery and Jo Odigari does his thing.

Dad of Ewan McGregor, Christoper Plummer, declares he's gay in his 70s. Strange tone. Melanie Laurent is adorable as the female interest.

sydney lumets network from the 70's - great movie, really enjoyed it

brothers with toby maguire, jake gyllenhal and natalie portman - pretty good movie, kinda intense at points. the kid who plays the older daughter was the best role imo. she killed it, and for such a young kid, i was really impressed.
