I'm on an epic ancient warfare binge, watched Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, and Braveheart. Any others in this theme I should check out?

^ The Two Towers. The Battle at Helms Deep is so good. I never watched Alexander but I'm guessing there should be a few battles in there too.

I just saw Attenberg. All Sydneysiders should go see a film at the SFF. Over the last couple of years, it quite simply has become the finest film festival. My itinerary this year is:

    The Turin Horse
    Septien
    Attenberg
    Medianeras
    The Future
    Surviving Life
    Silent Souls
    Le Quattro Volte
    Mishen
    The Mill and the Cross
    The White Meadows

300? and Spartacus: Blood & Sand (TV series). Also guessing you've seen Arnold the Barbarian and Arnold the Destroyer already, they're kinda old.

Question for the Bull Durham fans: where in the movie is this scene? Crash Davis: Yeah, I was in the show. I was in the show for 21 days once - the 21 greatest days of my life. You know, you never handle your luggage in the show, somebody else carries your bags. It was great. You hit white balls for batting practice, the ballparks are like cathedrals, the hotels all have room service, and the women all have long legs and brains. I have never seen it but I need to find the scene for a project im working on. Thanks!

    It's getting very tepid reviews.

Miranda July introduced the film. If quirky dialogue isn't your thing, you mightn't find it all that charming. It's also rather minimalistic. It was kind of mediocre, but I find her absolutely adorable. The film is another example of her presenting ideas in fun and inventive ways.

I've just got back from watching Senna and thought it was a fantastic documentary. I would say i only have a passing interest in F1 but i stil found it to be fascinating, entertaining and ultimately tragic. Definitely worth watching.

    Gran Torino and Casino

Love the plot of Gran Torino, and it reinforced/taught me some words that I should never say to people.

Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci go hard in Casino, and his suits were so interesting. I enjoy the narration throughout the movie.

Ugh! I feel as though it occurred at some point during the team bonding scene when Crash gathers the guys--each lugging a six pack of brew along for the activity--to soak the field, rendering it unplayable for the next day's game and thus permitting them to enjoy a night of fun and relaxation.

I could be wrong, though. Watch the movie; it's great.
