1. Welcome to the new Styleforum!

We hope you’re as excited as we are to hang out in the new place. There are more new features that we’ll announce in the near future, but for now we hope you’ll enjoy the new site.

We are currently fine-tuning the forum for your browsing pleasure, so bear with any lingering dust as we work to make Styleforum even more awesome than it was.

Right now the site is slow because we are fixing all the images from the past 4 months. Many of you noticed that these were missing, and we are fixing that problem now. Unfortunately, it is taking up a lot of resources and causing the site to be slow.

Oh, and don’t forget to head over to the Styleforum Journal, because we’re giving away two pairs of Carmina shoes to celebrate our move!

its one of my all time favorite movies from growing up. i was pretty pissed that netflix, amazon prime, and hulu plus all lack it in their streaming options.

Buy it ASAP! One of my most cherished childhood movies.

I watched Under The Skin last night. I have mixed feelings on the movie, some really interesting concepts and styles, perhaps a bit too vague but at times the shots linger too long. Ending was a bit hamfisted.

    I was all, like, whoa!
I didn't realize the two of you were such young punks. I was already doing the law-talking thing by year that movie came out.

Enjoy it anyway with your boy, stitchy. Sharing a movie that connects with your kid-self with your actual kid is such a blast. :slayer:

No idea. Thousands I guess. Mostly old hollywood. Very weak on Asian movies.

Somewhat less these days. Made the mistake of going to see the new ape movie on Sunday. Pretty much wanted to kill the entire audience with the talking, phones, and the guy who kept putting his hands above his head to stretch.

Top of my head of a few favourites. May be best to do theme nights. Once you show him one A&C or Don Knotts movie he'll probably want to see them all.

i was expecting a 5 digit answer at least.

the movie going experience is a far cry from what it was when i was a kid, i can only imagine how it compares for the generation above me.

theme nights, or weeks, now that is a great idea.

I don't think people are being deliberately rude, they're just unaware of the effect of their actions on others.

exactly. that is what i meant when i said that the movie going experience has changed. for a lot of people, talking/whispering about the movie and texting and what not, are all part of how they enjoy the movie.

ifs thats not what you are used to, then its plain rude.

as far as the texting, i think that its more about boredom. there is a need in the latest generations for ones attention to be constantly engaged, boredom is the ultimate enemy and if the movie ceases to grab you for a minute, out comes the phone until the next scene starts. and i think that once they have trained themselves to have the phone handy, its now just part of things, even when you are not bored, once its been entered into the arena, its just there.

its not meant to be rude at all.
