oldman is superb.
I knew exactly when I typed that you would come back with Oldman as a comparison. Oldman is a better actor and more recognizable. His range is also much larger.
Christopher Walken gets respect, but not as much as he deserves. After he passes away he'll get a lifetime achievement award and they'll name a street after him.
he is the most awesome of all the awesome awesomeness. all the time, every time.
I saw Mouse Hunt just because he was in it.
brilliant. have you seen poolhall junkies?
Couple films the past three days:
Rewatched Django Unchained. Still great. Still very funny, even when watched twice in a short time period.
A Good Day to Die Hard. Stupid as fuck. Even the attempts to be funny failed. The only impressive thing about the movie was that it was presented in Dolby Athmos -- first time for me. The shooting scenes were devastating. I do not recommend that anyone with the slightest war traumata should ever go see a movie in Dolby Athmos. He/she will suffer. Someone actually left during the final showdown.
Gangster Squad. Quite nice, good entertainment.
Les Misérables. I never really watched a musical before so I wasn't sure whether I'd like it. I did. A lot actually. Very intense.
I would clarify that statement by stating he's more recognizable for his body of work, but not by sight/sound. Many a moviegoer has failed to identify him - at least at first - in movie roles. He is so flexible that he often just blends in and is so often just assumed to be some nameless character actor until that "holy shit, it's Gary Oldman" moment late in the film. I will be forever in awe of him.
I agree with this. Even in Batman Begins I didn't recognize him until near the end, and he's not even in heavy makeup or anything. Not to mention that when I imagine Sid Vicious or Lee Harvey Oswald, I always picture them as Gary Oldman.
The Descendants. Good movie. Alexander Payne has never really let me down.
Les Misérables, again.
And A Beautiful Mind. Despite its inaccuracies, a great movie. I really like Russel Crowe.
way to rock the movie casba. i want to see gangster squad, but keep pushing it off.
Watched 2 movies last night.
1st was Sinister. Holy cow if you never want to sleep again i recommend you watch it. First movie in a long long time that made me yell.
2nd was dredd. How some of you liked it is beyond me. It seemed really cheaply made. Mostly because it was in the future and had modern day vehicles in it. It was also really predictable.
This past week:
End of Watch-Not bad at all
Taken 2-Also not bad.....though I do wonder why Liam, who is friends with several security/mercenary types, never just asks them of help...
though it is obvious how they are setting up the next flick................
Just saw Bellflower on Netflix instant, solely based on the 12 word description. Best random pick Ive ever landed on, love and flamethrowers.
