I was a huge fan of the book as a child, though I suspect it might not hold up these days, but the movie was absolutely terrible. The movie got the general plot somewhat right, but took out any and every part that made the story any good at all.

The wording of Ebert's review of American Reunion kind of makes me want to watch it...I love this line:
"If you liked the earlier films, I suppose you gotta see this one. Otherwise, I dunno."

Pretty much this. The book is a pretty good young adult work, and for a lot of kids, it can really fill a void. It has been a very long time, I remember the next book also being good and really tying things together, but I think the books go downhill from there.

This is a pretty good piece on the subject: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9909314/ender-game-controversial-author-very-personal-history

so awesome, there are a lot of flashes of Tyler Durden that you have to look out for.

on a recent watch, i saw hunger games, movie was decent although i found it kinda boring.

I was pleasantly surprised by RED. But then, I wasn't expecting much. How does R2 compare?

i think it about the same. fun flick, good fighting, some cute/funny dialogue, solid plot, and anthony hopkins was fantastic.

Two of the greatest Rom-Coms of all time. I've watched both dozens of times.

'Dormant Beauty' - interesting 'Magnolia-esque' structure which revolves around the real life case of a long-term coma, and the government vote on law permitting ceassation of life support. A attactive drug adict's repeated suicide attempts, a senator's (Servillo) moral conflict with his religious daughter, a religious matriarch - (Huppert), these all various metaphors for Italy's 'sleeping' and need to reawaken.
A timely release date as the documentary 'Girlfriend In A Coma' was also around at the time.
