So, I'm the guy that says "does x win in the end, I cant take the suspense".

    Conceded.

I saw the 007 documentary, really interesting. Decided to watch the last 3 bond movies, with Daniel Craig as the new bond.

In context, these are great. He's by far the best bond ever, not even an argument. The films, again IN CONTEXT are by far the best bond films ever. Quite enjoyable. More depth, character development, and grit, especially Casino Royale.

The franchise has a very long history, and The Spy Who Loved me and Moonraker were always my favorites, but these are really top notch and do exceed expectations. Touche. The franchise deserves another day.

I watched Killing Them Softly last night. Not quite sure I got the message. So America = capitalism = bad? Mind blown.

    Winter's Bone 8/10

A gritty depiction of Ozark poverty. Really grim. Wonderful performance from Jennifer Lawrence.

    The Big Lebowski 5/10

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Love later Coens, the early ones, not so much. Big fan of Bridges and Goodman, so quite a disappointment.

    High Fidelity 9/10

A superb adaption of the Nick Hornby novel. The whole cast is magic. Jack Black is sensational. Vinyl, great music, great screenplay, and even better performances.

    About a Boy 9.5/10

Another brilliant adaption of a Nick Hornby novel. Same as High Fidelity in quality, but add even better acting from Nicolas Hoult in his debut. Both funny and heartbreaking, without any sense of maudlin.

    Saw Stand Up Guys...

It is a terrible movie. Don't waste your money or time.

I'm embarrassed that I actually sat through the whole movie.

I usually get up and leave bad movies.

My first impulse to leave occurred in the first 10 minutes.

    Cheers,

watched The Master yesterday. JP acting was superb in the film, but my thoughts on the film itself were that it dragged on to long in some parts. I think JP deserves to win the oscar for best actor out of all the nominees.

i did not really like hangover 2. the first one was very creative, genuinely funny, and a good story line to boot. the second one was imo just OTT debauchery for the sake of debauchery and not nearly as funny.

Agree with other scores, but a 5 for Big Lebowski? It is the most quotable movie of all time. Literally every line is quotable. It's gut-bustingly hilarious. If you don't like it there's something wrong with you.

I liked it the first time I saw it many years ago... Watched it again a couple years back, and couldn't believe I actually liked it.
