Yeah, for me it's a tough call between those movies.
you know what did it for me,the musical score.it was damn perfect.
the scene where Mickey begs for a job and then rocky sends him away but runs after him and puts his arm around him in the distance while the piano starts playing gets me everytime.the music in that scene said more in two notes then whatever could have been scripted.
yeah, i guess i hear you. but TD just appeals to me more personally. frenchy, what happened to bruce?
ordinary people over raging bull? i never saw OP, but i dont know how anything could beat RB, one of my favorite movies.
dances with wolves over goodfellas? again, never saw DWW, but GF might be mt favorite movie ever.
tough shit for martin. dont know what they had against him.
speaking of fantastic movies, i just watched harry potter 7, part 1. and i enjoyed it.
out of all of those the only one that should NOT have won and didnt is taxi Driver,,ironically his best movie.
you infuriate me
Dances with Wolves is a great movie with about five or six endings...every time you think the movie is done, it conntinues. Yeah....
I really liked The Deathly Hallows, though both parts need to be viewed as one movie.
interesting observation. maybe in some respects it is his best, but i did not enjoy it as much as those other 2.
you know you love me.
i watched them out of order. thought they were both great. would like to watch them again though, in order and consecutively. they really are 1.
The Dreamers. It really pains me to watch. What's the message the director was trying to send anyways...Yet the pictures are just beautiful.
Watched Tiny Furniture last night...what an entitled piece of garbage. Certainly some well done pieces but it was overall just grating and I am not sure where all of these good reviews came from. I get that its basically a fictionalized version of Lena Dunham's life but as someone who recently went through the same transitions in life, I have no sympathy for a whiny entitled girl who thinks her BA in film theory makes her too good to be a hostess and who spends all of her time making destructive decisions.
At least the real life Lena Dunham eventually gets a show on HBO...but seeing this movie is certainly discouraging me for ever actually wanting to watch Girls.
Also, Stitch--you gotta figure out what cable you need to hook up your computer to the TV or you gotta get one of those devices that will let you watch Amazon and Netflix on your TV. You don't have to be like me and have a whole computer attached to the TV...my parents have a Roku and it works just fine.
Friends with kids.
Watching Wild Things. On Friday night.
B, you're never alone.
I feel like the only reason that I somewhat enjoyed Tiny Furniture was because I had already seen Girls. I didn't find the movie that great in and of itself, but it was interesting to see some of the actors from Girls and how their characters in the movie were almost identical to the tv show.
batman rises. meh
