    i was too, in part because it was hyped up by the critics as this "surprisingly good, funny, heart warming" movie. Had i watched it 6 months ago I may have felt similarly.

    indeed she did. i particularly enjoyed the interaction of the older and younger daughter, and clooney trying, however unsuccessfully, to shelter the younger one.

    was very reminiscent of my younger brother, and the brother younger than him.

    Yeah, I said as much about three weeks ago. Not nearly as well written as his (Payne's) other movies.

    i have seen the magnificent seven, and enjoyed that theme a lot.

    i know both of the other themes, but had no idea that is where they were from. very cool.

    Only half of the march from Kwai is original to the movie; the initial part of the march is "The Colonel Bogey March" and was written early in the 20th century. It has a long association with golf and is (in some way) the source of the golfing term "bogey."
