I need to check that out. Once Upon a Time in the West is definitely a top 5 Western of all time, and maybe a top 20 film of all time in my book. Brilliant.

Big fan of Michael Sheen. See him in The Damned United.

    Watched Kitano's Zatoichi.

So stupidly awesome. Totally dug it.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The type of stupid action movies I love. Really enjoyed it.

    +1

I saw MI4 in IMAX just to see the dark knight rises prologue and really liked it. It's important to set your expectations properly for a movie like that and it met them.

The Damned United is excellent. We watched "Jesus Henry Christ", also starring Michael Sheen, over the weekend. We really enjoyed it - it has a great cast and an excellent script, lots of fun.

We also watched "The Artist", which I found to be a letdown. I found the schtick of making a silent film about the transition to talkies annoying, and none of the characters were particularly likable.

The tone of the wardrobe in Allen's movies has been more or less the same since the 80s. Basically subdued hues, browns, olives, greys, beiges. Nothing too distracting. Something at the opposite of the Almodovar spectrum.
Just re-watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona : love Javier Bardem's linen thing. Probably my favourite movie of his in last decade.
