Had a chance to get out of the house this weekend to see a movie. Since I’d already seen Deadpool and Wolverine, I opted for this:

Some long distance flights, so 'forced' to watch some movies. I wanted to watch 'Monkey man' but I had a kid sitting next to me, so picked something less violent. Umami was a pile of cliched cr*p. Civil war was intriguing, can't say that I enjoyed it though. Finally watched Oppenheimer and they kept the s*x scenes in, so that was a bit awkward. Good movie and am currently reading American prometheus before watching it again.

Absolutely! I saw it recently and was blown away by it.

BTW, my avatar is Omar Sharif.

Monkey Man was awesome. Some pretty violent scenes but I don't think it was gratuitous at all. Great fight choreography, definitely worth a watch.

I watched Deadpool v Wolverine in the cinema last night. It was fun of sorts. A bit too much fan service/ fourth walling, and the fights went on for too long especially the one between the protagonists (who both can't die) and the big fight in the void was frankly a bit boring.

I refer to those as the "punchy-punchy, fighty-fighty" bits.

Watched Furiosa last night. Solid movie, and if I'm being honest, better than I expected. I typically take a dim view on prequels.

I just didn't care enough to ever see it. So many characters are ruined by fleshing them out. See Boba Fett.

Furiosa is good, and definitely worth a watch. W1 and I watched it yesterday and both enjoyed it. Chris helmsworth does a fantastic job as the main antagonist.

Honestly, I had forgotten so much of Fury Road that it didn't feel like a prequel.

Apparently, come to find out, I'm "f**ked up" for thinking Affliction based on the Russell Banks novel is a comedy. Oh well, still holds up after all these years and I laughed my a$$ off again last night.
