There is a widely accepted interpretation, easily google-able on teh internets, you might want to eventually seek out. For me, it actually enhanced the movie — unlike, say, the explanation for Lost Highway (he’s got that disorder that makes you think you’re two people!) or 2001 (not even worth mentioning).

Mamet writes and directs Hackman , Lindo , DeVito , and company . Sam Rockwell !

a bit tedious by the *octupleth cross* but good clean fun . features a van chasing a cargo plane and a pivotal smelting scene lol .

worth a try .

Titane.

A Julia Ducournau (who?) movie. 2021 Palm Door and all that.

Similar to Lynch' Eraserhead in that a strange creature is born but this time after sex with a car and just as the movie ends... but there is a fire brigade thrown in for good measure. Worth viewing at least once, not sure about owning although there are some atmospheric scenes. Overall, it's a like, I think, but not for the main story as much as for the storytelling - for the accompanying, environmental, atmospheric things and cinematic depictions.

DO NOT make the mistake that I made, and watch this film while under the influence of lysergic acid.

Highly entertaining mindless violence (gamer inspired?) and sci fi mix to produce a mutant offspring of Ground Hog Day. A good time was had by all, and it wheeled out an interesting cyber punk ending as well.

Pretty mediocre tbh, but good enough that I rewatched half of S1 of the Sopranos after watching this.

Story focuses on Dicky Moltisanti, father of Chris and an inspiration / surrogate father figure to Tony Soprano as a kid. A lot of the movie had me wondering why this movie even exists - what is it trying to accomplish?

Pros:
- Some solid acting by the lead actors: Gandolfini, Fermiga, and Liota especially were great. Leslie Odom Jr - what a king. Great performance, really cool character, one of the more interesting elements of the movie.
- The depiction of the '67 race riots was very well done.
- "Neil Young gave his speech on the moon" -> this was a pretty funny movie, which the Sopranos could be at its very best.

Cons:
- The movie, for lack of a better term, "didn't look real". Saturated color, flat costume design, the blocking of a lot of the shots...there's a lot of modern productions shot on digital today (I'm thinking, like, every Netflix production I've seen) that just feel like they're set on a soundstage, with actors in costume. I don't know how else to describe it. Rewatching the Sopranos show, there's something texturally about how it's shot that makes it actually feel like it's set in NJ.
- Some truly awful acting from the supporting characters. John Magaro doing what feels like a bad Silvio impression as Silvio is especially cringe to watch.
- I wish the film had been much more predominantly set in 1967, but they obviously needed to fast forward to get Tony to be Michael Gandolfini age
- That said, the Italian mobsters' racism was definitely underplayed.

Caught this Saturday night. Not bad but agree the double cross bonanza definitely got old.
