Yeah, he looked goofy. I wonder why they chose to have his character don one.

I just added Roger Dodger to my Netflix queue. Thanks for the rec!

Watched Drive this weekend. I loved it.

First, the soundtrack was awesome. It made the film feel sort of sleezy and disposable, yet it gave it an intensity. For some reason it reminds me of At Close Range in that respect.

Second, the most underrated character in the film was the violence. Gossling's character was like a savant of bas-ass-ness. I've never seen a film get the violence so perfectly like that. In the scene were he works over Cook's hand with a hammer, I was jumping out of my seat. The only think I didn't care for was the fact that he knew Albert Brooks would try to kill him at the final exchange and yet he somehow let Albert attempt to do it anyway. I'm not sure if after the death of Shannon and his rejection by Carry Mulligan if he had decided that he didn't want to live. Then after he awakens he decides that he does fact want to live so he drives off. Maybe the ending a nod to Shane.

Third, I thought it was a little ridiculous that some dude in a Chrysler 300 was able to keep up with him in a Mustang. I would think that the suspension differences alone would make it impossible for it to keep up. Then again, maybe the 300 had some adjustments made to it like the Impala that Ryan starts the movie with.

Finally, does he just leave those two dudes at the Staples Center parking garage to fend for themselves? If so, I thought that was sort of messed up.

most interesting thing to me was that there was not even a hint as to explain his background and where he picked up his fighting skills. abused/grew up rough? ex military? martial arts? nothing

    I liked it.

Both are very good. My favorite scene in Barcelona is at that party where he changes the music.

That was a great movie. Campbell was amazing but eisenberg also stood up. It´d be cool to have someone show you the ropes like that when you are a teenager.

Somehow I KNEW you were going to be the first to chime in that you don't know who that is.

    One (made up) word: "Mythbusters".
