1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Odds of starting a real charcoal fire and cooking a rare ribeye tonight: 100%
Odds of drinking a beer during preparation of said ribeye: 100%
Odds of throwing the baseball with my kids afterwards: 90%
Odds of successfully engaging in sexual relations with a woman before falling asleep: 18%

Could be a worse day for manliness.

I learned how to ride a motorcycle today and I feel pretty damn manly now.

I was pretty surprised to hear from some of the guys in the course that they had been riding for 30+ years and had never actually made an attempt to get their license before this course. Apparently it's pretty uncommon to get stopped by the police unless you are speeding ridiculously fast or driving recklessly, so they never felt the need to get one.

Driving without a licence for 30 years...

You have to be bonkers and irresponsible.

He cruised around on training wheels for a little while, but then we took them off yesterday. He actually did much better on a slightly bigger bike. The small ones with the sixteen inch or whatever wheels are just too hard too pedal and balance.

Why? Not being provocative, but I don't know much about motorcycles, and I'm curious why one would avoid getting a license.

Do you have a regular license? I drove a bike for years without getting a motorcycle license, but I've always had a regular license.

Maybe its just me be stubborn, but I just don't feel the need to pay a tax and take a test to prove I'm good at something I've been doing since I had a 50cc pit bike when I was 8. That's my outlook. I should have been grandfathered into a license or something. I'm only 22, but I have 14 years of riding experience, with only once crash when I was 11, and that was on a 150cc KTM that was WAY TOO BIG for me at the time.

Yes, I have regular license, as well as my CDL and Humvee license.

This weekend I went to a republican fundraiser, camping, and then a ranch party that was the ultimate redneck paradise. Cute girls, a pool, skeet shooting, ATVs, and lots of booze. I'm incredibly sunburned but it was well worth it.

I repaired the toilet in my condominium without even consulting a book or a website about toilets. I just relied on my own wits to figure it out. And I did it at 12:30 am. Now I feel like a great champion, like Harley Race prior to Starrcade 1983.

An opossum was killed in the street in front of my house, and someone one kicked it to my curb. I had to bag it and dispose of it. There were tiny little babies still alive. Not a chore I enjoy.

Woke with a raging hangover, yet I still flattened several boards (by hand plane), prepped and glued the three together for a tabletop. I'm killing time until I can remove the glued panel from the clamps.

If the possum was still warm, you should have skinned, quartered and fried it. Possum innards are particularly good over top some fresh dandilion greens.

Poor opossums. I can't imagine losing a parent at such a young age.

Lessee, if any on you are so inclined, Google "Brookville, PA, man tries to resuscitate dead possum". I shit you not, this happened about 20-25 miles from where I live. Guy was in the middle of a well traveled highway, performing CPR on a dead possum.

I don't know, I guess I was just moved by the sight of the wounded opossum. I gave it my best effort, which is more than my detractors, including the police, can say for themselves.

If Neo had been with me that fateful day, ain't no way that opposum dies. Ain't no way.
