What Makes Minotti Better Than Other European Brands?

TL;DR: What makes Minotti better quality, and more expensive than other European furniture brands? I want to buy a sofa and sideboard from them and want to try and justify the premium price.

I have noticed that any furniture dealer that carries Minotti (along with other brands) will say that it is better quality than the other brands they carry.

Compared to brands like Flexform, Poltrona Frau, B&B, Paola Lenti, Zanotta, deSede, Baxter (Italy), and Walter Knoll, Minotti does have more of a luxury bent and is perhaps most similar to the Giorgetti brand, but Giorgetti does a lot more solid wood pieces.

From looking at Minotti's upholstered pieces and their case goods I can't discern superior quality in construction other than to note the use of high quality ingredients. To Minotti's credit, their textiles are custom to their brand, they don't have their own mill (like Paola Lenti) but their fabrics are their own.

From experience I know that many European brands use the exact same fabrics (albeit with different names). I was looking at fabric samples for a new chaise from Walter K. and was able to find the exact same fabric that is on my Flexform sofa. On the flip side Minotti's rugs are all tufted and usually viscose while Walter K. rugs are hand knotted and made of wool and silk.

Anyways, I am thinking about purchasing a sofa and a sideboard from Minotti and I am wondering if anyone has insight into what makes Minotti superior. I want to justify the premium price before I pull the trigger.

There is a brand called Ceccotti Collezioni that makes gorgeous solid wood furniture and in the USA the prices are 3X the retail price in Italy...I want to avoid that type of markup. 50%-75% more expensive than Italy is fine but not 300%.

I don’t know enough about construction to answer your question, but I’ve had Minotti pieces in my dining room, bedroom, and living room for a year and am about to order more to furnish my new house when it’s finished. All I can say is that Minotti fits my eye better than any other furniture manufacturer I’ve seen. The pieces are incredibly heavy and feel rock solid. My table isn’t solid wood, it’s sucupira veneer on MDF, but it’s beautiful and simple and feels really substantial.

I think Minotti's style is much more conservative than many of the other brands. They don't do anything too aggressive with their designs which is good and bad.
