Lots of people on this forum have martial arts and mma experience. What do you think makes a good fighter? We've all been in the gym/dojo before and seen people who won't ever be good regardless of how many years they train. Is it a temperament thing? Does it depend on how bad their childhood was? What separates a "practitioner" from a fighter?

High strength, constitution, and agility. I'd also put some points into dexterity, though such a recommendation is controversial.

IMO, the ability to turn off (or not have in the first place) most of your cognitive and empathetic thinking abilities and not have any concern about how that fat lip and skinned knuckles are going to look at the office on Monday.

Genetics makes a difference. Some people's chins can just take hits while others cannot.

1. Genetics mostly
2. Solid training regiment with a cerebral approach (e.g. watching videos to develop reliable fighting habits on top of your regular strength/conditioning routine)

Finally, someone gets the joke (although not necessarily the fact that it was a joke).
