What makes a Tom Ford suit?

They make about a dozen suits for each main scene. Some are designed only for a still shot while others are designed for action. Regardless, the suit DC is wearing is not the same suit you will get at a TF boutique. The fabric might be the same or similar and some details might be similar, but DC's suits are bespoke for his body and the needs of the specific scene.

I recall the DVD extras commenting that they not only have multiple suits per action sequence, but also larger size versions for fighting. Worth noting...

Does anyone know exactly how big the flaps are on Tom Ford suits?

There is a wide range of models, with different overall sillouttes, wide and narrow lapels, the respective flaps etc. You have to be more specific.

Does tom ford make a model with 3 1/2 inch lapels? If so how big are the flaps on that model?

Flaps is a pocket type on suit jackets but Tom Ford flaps on their suits are bigger then usual.

9cm is not that much for lapel width, imo, so I'd say the pocket flaps are proportioned accordingly. Are you familiar with the rule of three? You could measure the lapel-width from pictures and calculate the actual flap size. I don't know how important your need for the info is, though, so you might just rely on your eye and decide wether it looks good or not.

Wow, it looks like I am out numbered here.

I can't think of anything wrong with that for example:

The suits were too slim to make it appropriate for a more casual occasion and for an action movie. It would have been silly to watch Daniel Craig doing all those action scenes in a classic fitting suit, wouldn't it ?!
There is nothing wrong with that suit. This is 2013 suits don't have to cover your ass anymore. you may want to billow around in your extra fabric but the best dressed people wear slim fit suits.
