I've been reading some threads as I am looking for a pair of shoes, so I decided to post my own. I'm looking for a pair of shoes to go along with a charcoal brownish colored suit. I'm having a hard time deciding what brand, type, etc... to choose. I'm not looking too spend too much, but I'm not fixed on any one price. I don't know too much about shoes, so any help is appreciated.

Here are some of the ones I've liked:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/sassetti...loafer/3013104

http://www.6pm.com/product/7683686/color/3561

I also really like Ferragamo shoes, but they are a little pricey at Nordstrom. Anywhere to get them for cheaper?

I'm open to any suggestions, I just wanted to point out the type of style I like.

I appreciate the help.

Are you an i-banker in the US? If not, then wear lace ups.

Yes. Oxford/balmoral lace-ups with suits, derby/bluchers with sport coats, blazers, chino's and jeans. Loafers are for the weekends.

Thanks for the help. Does anybody have any suggestions for shoes I should be looking at? I'm trying to keep it under $250ish. Don't need anything too fancy as I'll only be wearing them 10 times or so per year.

Check out Allen Edmonds website. They are having 40% off selected styles. Should be in your price range. Since they are Goodyear welted, they can be resoled. I personally recommend a merlot/burgundy/oxblood color. Goes with everything except black (there are those who would argue it does).

Go try on some Allen Edmonds at Nordstrom. However those will be ~$300. If you live near an AE outlet or Shoe Bank then you can probably get a better deal.

AE has many styles, go browse their website; they also have a few shoes on clearance right now.

If you don't want to spend this much, then you can probably get a pair of Johnston Murphy or Cole Haan for $100 but these are certainly not approved by the SF groupthink.

Are places like Nordstrom Rack and Neiman Marcus Last call worth checking out?
