Listened to the whole LP of Bill Evans and Jim Hall's first collaboration, "Undercurrents" the other morning. Recorded in 62... not too long after Evan trio's bassist Scott Lafaro died ending the trio's playing and recording. The interplay between the guitar and piano is great with shifting leads and support ... playing together all the shifting seamlessly. Just great artist here. Just physically, it has one of my favourite cover's of all time the LP is just beautiful looking.

Everytrack is solid, but I think the tune "Dream Gypsy" is my favourite. The Spotify version album has a few more numbers than the LP and I'd expect CDs might have the same.

I love gypsy jazz. Biréli Lagrène, a very fine guitarist that few people are familiar with. Featuring the spectacular Romanian violin player Florin Niculescu.

My repertoire has three Gypsy Jazz tunes, but I would love to add a couple more to the core list.

Wish there was a way we could all contribute to a Spotify playlist with these gems

A great performance here... look at the clothes and that Omega(?) watch... looks very appealing (hey, this is a clothes forum) . Stan Getz and a version of, the group "return to forever". They recorded an LP "Captin Marvel" back in 72... when I first picked up the LP it seemed like an odd pairing. Took it home and was happy and surprised.

Doesn't look like the album made it to Spotify. But there's some tracks on youtube. The version of "500 miles high" is solid... whole thing is and a bit pulled back from some of the more electric Jazz Rock of the bands output.
