I wanted to make a poll on Jacket size as most people I know are either 38, 40, or 44 without many 42.

I'd gladly vote, but I'm 36 in some brands and 38 in others.

This poal kinda sucks. Define your sizes.

For me, a true 38 is:

17.75 to 18'' shoulders
39 to 40'' chest
~30 length

I put 36 as that is what I aim for, but If possible a slim fit 36 is my ideal size.

Jacket size is about what size your chest is. I think that's more of what the poll is about. I have jackets labelled from 38 to 42, but I measure a 40 and that's really what I am. A jacket for me should ideally measure 42" chest, 18" shoulders, 38" waist, 31" length from BOC and 25" sleeves (depending on amount of shoulder padding).
