My charchol cashmere crewneck. I don't treat this sweater like I should. I bike ride, hike, work etc in this sweater so it's pretty beat. I think it adds to the character. It's still really soft too.

It's my grandfather's ex-peacoat on me. Mil issue, 50s vintage.

So it's got history AND style. Sweet.

I almost won a bidding war a couple of weeks ago on a mothballed WW2-era RAF trenchcoat. I just couldn't hold on after it went above 100 pounds. But it was a gorgeous-looking thing.

Hard to say for me. I don't have anything that I would consider irreplaceable, except for a pocket watch that belonged to my great grandfather and is engraved with his initials. It's just a Bulova, but obviously has great sentimental value. Of course, it's not clothing.

As for clothing, I'd probably choose from:

    - Bill's 15th Anniversary khakis

    - Alden Indy Boots (I just love 'em)

    - Polo shell cordovan chukkas

    - LL Bean leather jacket - I just bought it last year and there's nothing particularly special about the make, but I had one like it all through college and law school (which I gave away once I lost weight and it got too big on me), so there's some sentimental value there

    - Oxxford cashmere sport coat

I guess I'd go for the Oxxford - it would be the hardest to replace from a monetary standpoint. Besides, if I lost all of my shoes, my wife would have to let me buy new shoes. [IMG]

They're both pretty cheap, the black and whites are from Office in London. As far as I could tell it's the same last as the George Cox's for half the price - nice, long and pointy. The silver ones are reeeeallly cheap, from Topman, but I love the color, as they look cooler the more they get scratched up. They have a split-toe center seam that makes them look like steel bananas (what some girl told me they reminded her of). Instant conversation piece that occasionally gets me shat upon by other dudes = choice piece of clothing [IMG]

Also, they kept me happy working at Banana Republic this summer, as my managers are nice and liked it when I wore them.

sounds awesome. I had a pair of George Cox 'pickers a few years ago and yea they're a bit $$$. If you ever get a chance I'd love to see a pic of the silver ones.

I remember you posting this way back and ever since then whenever I go to a thrift store I've checked for peacoats. A 41 or 42L would fit me perfectly but I can never find one.

Ever thought of having these sleeves shortened? Looks like a good inch and half too long to me, no?

First picture ever! The gold Chucks in the background would be in my top 5 favorite clothing items.
