I bought it from a member who said it was a tie clip, but I have no idea how to use it. Seems stupid, but it doesn't clip onto the front and side, or there'd be 1/4 of it hanging off the edge, right?

No one can identify this? The seller said it was vintage, with matching cuff-links (which I did not get) from the early part of the 20th century.

that looks like it would ruin a tie in a hurry. why not use it to keep your tortilla chips fresh in style?

WTF? It looks like one of the leftover's parts from assembling some Ikea furniture, I'd be stunned if it was a clothing accessory. Sharp pointy teeth and silk ties don't go together.

I think it's a tie clip however, as others have stated, it looks harmful to ties. The good thing is that it would prevent the loss of the more traditional tie clips. I've lost two and probably would consider a version of something like the one in the pic.
