I buy dresses/clothes for my girlfriend all the time. It's great. Currently planning on buying her this dress very soon

and persuading her to wear it out for dinner/a club with just lingerie underneath.
I think she has worked out after 4 years that if she wants sensible conservative clothes she will have to buy them herself.

Karen Millen (http://www.karenmillen.com/) is quite a decent alternative for girls on the slim side imho - Pricier than Zara but most of their outfits on your gf will not look out of place with your style.

OP, I'm going through the same stuff. After three years she's just now getting a hang of buying on her own. Mine was a fresh from the Midwest girl who mostly hung out with granolas. Midwestern granolas are the worst. All of the smug mixed in with repression. It's been a tough battle, but it's a battle we have to fight. Just get the dresses hemmed when shes on vacation. Inch by inch...

Check out Chiara on Lookbook. http://lookbook.nu/chiaraferragni Smoking hot.

Also Prefection and Prepaganda on Tumblr both have some good stuff.
