As it pertains to dress shirts delivered by the dry cleaners with the sleeve buttons torn off. Not crack or loose mind you, completely ripped off.

Is this a reason to be pissed or (like usual) am I overreacting...

Sounds reasonably legit, assuming you're confident it wasn't already loose when you gave it to them.

In this instance I'm confident, the shirt has been worn once. How would you approach the merchant if this was say the third time its happened?

I'd bring it there (having left any weapons at home), ask for money back, then never go there again.

I'd probably ask him to replace the button, assuming you have a match. My dry cleaner will do this for free even if they didn't screw it up. After that, I'd probably switch services, since it's pretty clear that it will be a recurring issue.

Just make sure you wield your moral authority on the issue.

What did the merchant say about the other two times?

I was nice about it, gave them the benefit of doubt. People make mistakes and all. But a third time gets my blood boiling.

Hope its not your new Charvets? My cleaners put a 3 inch hole in the sleeve of one of my MTM shirts. They flat out denied it when i brought it back to them. When i told them all my shirts are custom made and that i would have to have the sleeve replaced, they said "well we have a seamstress that could do it and probably find the same fabric/dye lott". ******. They issued me a credit for the price of the new sleeve but needless to say i was pissed. Unfortunetly in my area good cleaners are few and far between and this one is by far the best, so i keep using them. I now launder my own shirts.

If anyone ever needs to know who is the best cleaner in any given city, PM me.

One of these days we'll get it posted in a sticky.

Or maybe sell it...
