What is the proper size of these Church's shoes?

Dear Folks: English shoe size conversions flummox me sometimes. I am about to list two pair of shoes, one Church's: One Church's/Cheaney/Tweeds: Click on the thumbnalls for larger pix. These are older but unworn shoes, probably made for the US market. I did do a search and find this thread which says that the US size is half a size larger, which would make them each size 8 US. OK, but which of the letters (B or D) indicates the width,and what does it mean in US terms? Thanks in advance.

Does the D on the same line as the size number indicate that they are a narrow width?

I think Church's standard width is denoted by 'F'. So that would make 'D' a narrow width. I know the wide width is 'G'.

I'm not sure if it would be a half size up, I think a lot depends on the last. It could easily be one size or even 1.5 sizes up in some cases.

These were probably made for the US market and as such are sized accordingly. One hint-Inside where it says "Church's", does it also list New York? If so, bingo was his name-o.

The Church's pair does, but the Tweeds pair does not.

But they seem to be the same size.

I would say both US sized. You should be safe listing them as such.
