Thought this may be an idea for a thread....

What is the most you would spend on....my numbers in parentheses

Dress shirts (I guess $100 or so, but I happy with Dung at $20 and Jantzen at 40)
Dress pants (100)
Chinos/khakis (50)
Sportcoat/Blazer (300 or so, but again, I happy with my tailor who will do it for 70)
Suit (see previous...I guess $700 or 800 if I was in HK and had a hankerin for some Chankerin, but no need at this point, Dung will do anything sub 400)
Dress shoes (200-250)
Casual shoes (100 ish)
Sneakers ($100)
Jeans ($80)
T shirts ($30)
Casual jacket (I have a great single breasted pea coat thing that I paid about 300 for, probly wouldnt want to go much higher than that)
Hoodies (wouldnt buy one)
Socks (10)
Ties (80)
Cufflinks (30 or 40)
Boxers/underwear (10)
Razor (I just spent 100 on that Merkur thing, cant imaging spending any more)
Shaving cream (I like my Body Shop stuff at sub 10)
Watches (thankfully avoided that fetish, 150-200 or so)
Fragrances (50)
Facial cleansery type things (uhh I guess 50 or so, I once bought some Clinique gear for a couple hundred and decided it was no better than the supermarket stuff, so wouldnt spend up there again)
Haircut (Im spoiled here too, $4 gets me cut, washed, shaved and massaged, but probly $20-30 ish if i lived in the real world)
Gym/fitness membership (hmmm Id probly pay $50-60 a month to a decent martial arts place if I could find one, gyms, forget it)

Anything I forgot? I scanned a couple of the boards, think I covered most things

So what would you guys spend?

OK, I'll go with "have spent" numbers, since "would spend" is income dependent.

Dress shirts $110
Dress pants 100
Chinos/khakis 40
Sportcoat/Blazer 350
Suit 350 (yeah, same that I've spent for a sportcoat)
Dress shoes 375 (Grenson MP boots)
Casual shoes 40
Sneakers 75 (for athletics only)
Jeans 180 (God that's ugly)
T shirts 30
Casual jacket 100
Hoodies 80 (only have 1, from Jay. Couldn't resist)
Socks 15
Ties 120
Cufflinks 80
Boxers/underwear 15
Razor 15
Shaving cream 10
Watches 280
Fragrances 55
Facial cleansery type things umm 5 i guess
Haircut 35 for a real one, 7 for an army cut

Dress shirts - maybe $200 if it was a fancy, fancy shirt with fancy fabric, but otherwise I'll stick with Asian tailors from the Internet.
Dress pants - don't really need any, but I got a pair of NWT RLPLs on eBay for, I think, $80?
Chinos/khakis - yeah, fifty bucks. Cheap mall brands to the rescue.
Sportcoat/Blazer - maybe $300? Don't have any at the moment.
Suit - I don't think I've ever paid more than about $400 for a suit, but I never really need one. I'm hard to fit with regards suits/sportcoats, so I'd probably pay a lot for a few good ones.
Dress shoes - maybe $400?
Casual shoes - about the same, if they're sweet boots or something.
Sneakers - $200, but only if they're in a limited colorway that makes the hypebeats pee themselves.
Jeans - Okay, I think I've paid $300 here. Had to jump on that raw selvage bandwagon!
T shirts - fifty bucks. Would have to be outstanding.
Casual jacket - $200.
Hoodies - I think I've dropped $150 on one or two...
Socks - most of mine I get at those funny little stalls in shopping malls.
Ties - whatever the first couple of generations of Carlo Franco ties cost.
Cufflinks - not much. All mine are from Tie Rack or thrift stores.
Boxers/underwear - the ones they sell at Target, I dunno.
Razor - the going rate for a Mach 3.
Shaving cream - nothing.
Watches - $200, they're all the same to me.
Fragrances - nothing, I get 'em as gifts and never use 'em.
Facial cleansery type things - Like... soap? I use soap.
Haircut - I don't think I've paid for a haircut in ten years...
Gym/fitness membership - never felt the need, not yet at least.

I'm also going with "have spent" numbers. I'm a pretty value-minded person, and I think have a pretty decent wardrobe considering that I haven't spent that much.

Dress shirts $55 (amazingly enough, that was a crappy CK shirt I bought when I didn't know any better)
Dress pants 80
Chinos/khakis 45 (Bill's!)
Sportcoat/Blazer 360 (for a new pure cashmere Oxxford)
Suit 700, inclusive of tailoring
Dress shoes 433 (RLPL Mackay)
Casual shoes 120 - although I blur the line by wearing these to work
Sneakers 60
Jeans 40
T shirts 25
Casual jacket 85
Hoodies 20 - My residential college hoodie.
Socks 4 for each pair
Ties 70
Cufflinks 30
Boxers/underwear 14
Razor - whatever the Mach 3 turbo costs these days.
Shaving cream 3.29
Watches 180
Fragrances 48
Facial cleansery type things 7
Haircut $40, only once at a Manhattan salon. $20 at a place where I am a regular.
Gym/fitness membership I will start paying ~340/month at a Tennis Club starting in July.

I guess this is like a fantasy league for those who can't find ESPN on the cable even when using both hands. These are retail prices and I seldom do over 20% to 25% of retail (if need be I'll wait until it comes to the vintage store)--

Dress shirts $750
Dress pants $850
Chinos/khakis $350
Overcoats $7k
Sportcoat/Blazer $4.5k
Suit $6k
Dress shoes $1.5k
Casual shoes $500
Sneakers $50
Boots $2k
Jeans $375
T shirts $60
Casual jacket $4k
Socks $90
Ties $199
Cufflinks $6k
Boxers/underwear $75
Razor $12
Shaving cream $2
Watches $25k
Fragrances $200
Facial cleansery type things $0
Haircut $16
Gym/fitness membership $0

Please note that the above are retail prices which I'm constitutionally unable and unwilling to pay. (Most of the luxe items have been gifts from my wife.)

I'll throw in my $0.02. All things are have previously spent on (would spend would be stupidly higher).

Dress shirts - $100 (Deep Discount Borrelli, Jantzen, Hemrajani)
Dress pants - $120 (Corneliani)
Chinos/khakis - $50? (Never bought a khaki in years)
Sportcoat/Blazer - $300
Suit - $500
Dress shoes - $300 (AE retail some time ago; I avoid paying retail now)
Casual shoes - If bluchers and split-toes count, same as above.
Sneakers - $120 (Some decent running shoes)
Jeans - $50
T shirts - $30
Casual jacket - $150
Hoodies - $0 (Never worn)
Socks - $15
Ties - $80
Cufflinks - $20 (Have not built a collection yet)
Boxers/underwear - Cheapos at Wal-Mart. Come on they get dirty and you trash them after a year anyway!
Razor - $70 for an electric one.
Shaving cream - $0
Watches - $300
Fragrances - $80 (Armani Code, too damn much however...)
Facial cleansery type things - $40?
Haircut - $25 MAX
Gym/fitness membership - $500ish for bench + weight set at home. Lasted for 2 years so far, and I can just buy more weights for pennies on the pound.

Sadly, it seems that playing tennis in Manhattan is a very expensive endeavour. It's unlimited play on outdoor courts until the end of fall. Don't have to worry about finding partners to play with, waiting at Central park, or traveling long distances for a decent court. I used to play in high school. I was pretty good. I hate gyms and running for no reason. I'm also gaining weight and getting really out of shape. This was the only way out, really.
