What is the most you would pay for these...

I really like these Pradas in this color combination, but I think I would feel like such an a**hole if I paid that much for sneakers. I could buy a pair of Tramezzas from Kanvas at that price. Does anyone know of another online retailer that might sell them for cheaper? I could probably justify to myself something under $270. Shoes

First of all, never buy from this retailer.  They overinflate *all* their retail prices, a practicve I find very dishonest.  Second, I'm not a big fan of Prada Sport.  Why don't you go on Yoox and find something a little more interesting.  But if you must, phone Saks, NM, Barneys, and see if they have the model.  The prices will be similar, if not better, and they are more legit, imo.

For the record, I would pay not more that $40 for these to flip them on Ebay for about $130-$150.

Thanks for the response, LA Guy. My real goal is to talk myself out of buying them. More negative comments about these shoes are more than welcome.

Not to mention they are trying to sell CnC tees for Costume National which is downright dishonest.
The shoes, well... there are plenty other nicer design on yoox.

I was digging them until I saw that horrendous shiny purple thing. And $350 is ludicrous. And, like LA Guy said, that is a VERY dishonest retailer.

Well, since you asked, I wouldn't buy those shoes at any price except to flip them, and I would keep them sealed in plastic and wrapped in lead foil until they were out of my house. Yuck.

You want a cool sneaker? check these out. I expect them sometime soon (needed a different size and got them offline). They come in a lot of other colorways too, if you can find them: Puma Mihara MY-7 sneakers I also have 2 pairs of the MY-8 in the white with blue and red colorway. With your tastes, you might also want to take a look at the MY-9's. Not my favorite design of the Miharas, but way cooler than the Prada Sports nonetheless.

I like those MY-7's. How do these compare with the quality of the Speedcats? I might also buy a pair of those. J...that was harsh.

Never been a fan of Prada sport.. aside from the retailer, even the shoes themselves seem like a dishonest take on the old school bright colored trainer/car shoe trend.

That is an excellent price on those Puma My's. Even at discount, I usually see them at $90+. The My-6 started it all... I've been into them ever since. And I second (or third?) the recommendation for Yoox. You can catch some great shoes there that you'll never see on the street, and for a very good price.

The Mihara Pumas are a lot better quality than the speedcats, and are apparently really difficult for the factories to produce.

Ken, yes, those are sneakers from the future.

Yeah, I know. Anyway, I just bought the MY-7's. They were very similar to what I was looking for. If not, I can always put them back on ebay. Thanks for the help guys.

The photos make them look much more Dunk-shaped than they are in real life. They are a bit sleeker in person.

They are lower profile and have a more pointed toebox than dunks do. I Think that the MY-7s were based after an indoor soccer shoe, but could be wrong. I am sure that the MY-5 were based on old running shoes, the and the MY-8 on baseball cleats, but am unsure of the inspiration of a lot of the other models, though I have an idea for most of them.

IMO, Puma Mihara's are the only "designer" sneaker that are really innovative. The Neil Barrett Pumas are really boring, and the Jil Sanders are really overpriced, not particularly well designed, and not even particularly well made. And they cost more than the Miharas. WTF? Adidas Y-3's are interesting, but not worth their cost, and definitely, imo, not as cool as the Puma Miharas, and the Varvatos Converse are worth approximately a third of their retail, i.e. the same a regular converse. There have been some other Adidas/designer collaborations which have been interesting, but all are ultimately way overpriced. Limited Edition (Quickstrike) Nikes are cool, but the concept has now been done to death, and I've only really liked the lazers, and then only some of them. And the prices they were selling for were exorbitant givwen that they were essentially just juked up Cortez, Dunks, and Airs. A lot of the limited editions are just junk...

Prada Sport, Gucci and LV sneakers I can only laugh at. The designs are nearly uniformly ugly, and they are obviously designed with guys who want to be "hip" but want to sport designer brands and are not all that used to wearing sneakers in any case in mind. I actually prefer the fake LV and Gucci material Timmies and Airs. At least those show a little pizzazz.
