i was reading this guide by thomas fink from a few years back and he mentions van heusen as the most worn shirt or most sold in the world. what would be the equivalent in suits and shoes?

there is no josabank in my country so i guess their distribution is not as widespread as others say marks and spencer? what about the shoes? i'd guess something in the $100 range would fit the bill. bass/ colehaan? of course i'm only talking about clothes for the office. i'd ask about ties but there may be too many brands and perhaps not too many average joes wear them anymore.

Sandals, or no shoes at all. There a lot of poor people in the whole world.

I would imagine sandals/flip-flops since they are so common in Asia and India. Sneakers are probably second.

Suits? Ha! Irrelevant. I would think that at any given moment there are 100 men wearing jeans for every 1 wearing a suit.

it's definitely a possibility that suits are not as worn and loafers are the most common.

I imagine the most worn suit cut in the world is the generic cut, I like to call it: lumpy or round shoulders and unintentionally full fitting. Pants are also unintentionally full fitting. No third piece is included. Sadly, we Americans are responsible for this "cut." Though not technically a real cut, it outnumbers the real cuts by sheer numbers manufactured and purchased.

Easy

Most common dress-shoe: Generic no-name mass-produced in China and sold to poor businessmen across Asia

Most common suit: Assuming we are going by labels...probably the house brand of a large Chinese or Japanese department store.

For the most common office shoe I've seen unfortunately is a black bicycle-toe loafer.
