Hi,
I've been doing a bit of research about different types of weaving and knitting methods and whilst comparing both of the aformentioned styles, I couldn't figure out what the exact difference is. To my knowledge they both create some sort of a honeycomb structure in the fabric.
Is there a practical difference between the two?

Thank you!

Giro Inglesse, Aertex, and Leno all have an open weave. I don't believe Pique is open, but more a basket weave. Pique is not just honeycomb, but also waffle and birdseye.

I have Giro Inglesse and Pique shirts, and they are completely different, especially in weight.

I have ordered another Pique shirt. I do like textured weave dobby shirts.

Here is the fabric:

Here is a Thomas Mason Giro Inglesse.
I do like it, but I think it's overpriced.
