I dont like going out for lunch at work because of traffic, the lunch rush, and too few healthy options. I want to start taking a meal replacement bar to work and just walk off somewhere and read. I want something filling but low cal so I can feel ok eating more at dinner when I know I can really appreciate a meal.

Any recs?

I really like these

They come in two sizes and two flavors. I usually pack a banana and an apple to eat during the day too if I happen to be going this route.

Ha, first post and completely unrelated to style.

Why not eat real food? A bag of carrots and a hard boiled egg can be very filling and nutritious. If you insist on a bar, Larabar. Look at the list of ingredients for the flavor cashew cookie - cashews, dates, salt. The other flavors are similarly minimalist.

The easiest way to make it to dinner with no lunch is to have a no-carb breakfast. Carbs drive hunger.

I like the Cliff Builder Bar... peanut butter flavor. Tastes very good.

Id say clif bars most resemble real food of the ones that I have tried.
The ingredients reflect this in mostly being recognizable words.
They sit pretty well with me where most other "sport bars" feel like I am trying to digest a brick.

Haven't tried them yet, but Ive heard good things. You choose your own ingredients. Maybe on the pricey side, but worth a look.

+1 Can of tuna (or sardines), some vegetables and a pita. Bam.

The only time I eat those meal replacements bars is when I'm skiing or hiking and weight is a concern.
