I am looking to buy some new shoes and I am considering churchs and trickers. They are close in price. The brands I am lookign at are the churchs 73 last and the trickers Jermyn street collection. Which has higher quality leather and will last longer?

Depends on the model. I forget which range the Jermyn Street is, but I would say that the custom grade Church's are more or less the equivalent of Trickers' wares.

I'd give the nod to Trickers on rougher country footwear, and Church's the advantage on business footwear in the 73 or 002 last (models like the Consul).

What's the price difference where you're looking?

Tricker's is really well made. Church's are also well made, but from my cursory inspection, not as well. But Church's does seem to use nicer lasts, and they look more London.

I prefer and wear Tricker's (I have two pairs). I also own RLPL/EG, C&J Handgrade, Polo/C&J shelo cordovans, Grenson Masterpiece and Footmasters, and Alfred Sargent. I don't own Church's. Church's just don't seem to have a good price/quality ratio; they seem slightly overpriced for what you get, although what you get is a very good shoe.

I have found Tricker's to be a bit better assembled, and their calf leathers are better. But the models look different, they are close enough in quality where appearance is a more important deciding factor.
