I am ordering my first shirt and am wondering under the collar section of the Jantzen website when you first go to the measurement section what the difference is in between the regular collar/cuffs and the fancy section.

Has anyone gone for the latest styles shirts that seem non-traditional with contrasting button hole/button thread, double button down collar or double/triple button at the collar? I want to go all out freaky but don't think I will ever wear it in public.

I personally don't like the double button down shirt. Maybe it's just that funny windowpane style fabric they used for the shirt on their site, but it looks funny to me.

However, I absolutely LOVE the other two things you mentioned. I'm planning to get a couple of sport shirts, some with the double top button and others with neat colors of thread.

Why have a dress shirt that looks off the rack to the untrained eye? I think having the second collar button (for example) moves the shirt in peoples minds from "Macys" to "Nieman Marcus" for example. It looks 'unordinary' I guess...
