What if Paris is the normal one?

For a long time, I've wondered who would end up in rehab first among the party crew of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan.

Obviously, with Nicole's recent arrest (her 2nd DUI), she may be there the soonest (and I know she already did a stint for heroin).

In addition, Lindsay has stated that she's been going to AA for a year now, and recently has been sober - for a whole week!

Clearly these two have some problems...

So my question is... could Paris be the normal one?

I mean, I'm sure we've all known girls and guys who party too much in their early 20's, but then outgrow that phase and move on with their lives without developing any longterm addictions or much beyond memories of their "wild" youth.

I sort of think Paris Hilton may actually just be another 20-something who does this... sure she does it on a greater stage and under greater scrutiny than most of us... but in 10-15 years, will she still be able to have a drink with dinner while Lindsay and Nicole are recovering alcoholic/addicts?

Paris is shallow and self-absorbed, but she's no fool. She'll party her 20s away without being careless enough to do anything that will really screw up her life. When she's in her 30s, she'll settle down with a responsible but not too demanding job in the Hilton organization -- or set up a nice little boutique PR firm or fashion label of her own -- and transform herself into a mature, 'respectable' member of the A list social set. When Lindsay, Britney, Nicole et al call from rehab to ask for a few bucks to "feed my babies 'til the next royalty check come in," her assistant will give them the standard "I'm sorry, she's travelling on business right now...". IMO.

Umm, not that I have any idea who this 'Paris', 'Lindsay', 'Britney', 'Nicole', et al are in the first place... who are these people? I've never heard of them!

I find Paris the least offensive of all of them. Lohan is totally talentless, and fronts like this big actress when all of her roles have been in total jokes of films. She also gets mad at people who ask her about the partying, and that recent letter telling lawyers how SHE can help educate the world, shows a hubris that is just precious.

Ritchie's a tragic case, but also pathetic.

Unfortunately though, I don't know if Paris has enough substance to be a Jackie O. She definately has the know how to appear as such, but I don't know is she has the "class".

The problem with that analogy is that, from everything I've read, Jackie O was smart, cultured and had taste. Paris has none of those attributes. She is as dumb as a box of rocks. Did you read her defense of Britney and her "party ethics." LOL

No, but I want to. Do you have a link? Was it like some kind of manifesto?

Anyone else have that secret wish that Paris would get in to some kind of horrible accident that would disfigure her and hopefully, make her a more humble and compassionate person and not so condescending to 'common folk'?

I imagine she could do a lot more with her time and money helping others via her celebrity than 'living it up'.

i'm not bitter, just an observation.

it's not her duty to help anyone. I dont get this obligation that folks put on those with celebrity/money to 'help humanity'. and I think it's worse that you would secretyl want her to get disfigured, to somehow teach her a lesson???

I like how you wrote "CLASS" . That is the right way to apply that term to Paris or Jakie O for that matter.
IMO
Jackie O had as much "CLASS" as Sinatra had a great "VOICE", Marilyn Monroe had a great "ACTING" skill, JFK was a "GREAT" president and Andy Warhol was a "PAINTER" or an "ARTIST".
So many ambitions so little talent or substance. Paris H would fit perfectly in this pantheon of our cultural "giants".

Well, I never thought much of jackie O, even though I wasn't alive. I put "class" in quotations because first of all, it's a terrible word, and second of all, what it stands for, for most people, is laughable. And as low as the standards are in our society for "class" (when Trump is considered classy), I don't think Paris can attain even those.

No, its not an obligation, but as she has put herself, (or maybe in part the media has), into the spotlife with her rude and condescending show, The Simple Life, just really turned me off about her. Thus my comment about doing something completely opposite. There are hundreds of other celebs that party hard and are in the media but aren't so in-your-face- about 'look at me, i'm beautiful, wealthy and can be demeaning to others less fortunate.

I do agree with you that no one should be required or pressured to give 1 cent to anyone. They earned it or inherited it and they should do whatever it is they want.

I guess, to sum it up, it just reminded me of Georgie from The Magnificient Ambersons" and he getting his 'comeuppance'.
