Yeah I'm not expecting something on par with my near-field monitors or my Shure SE530 IEMs, but I need the best possible noise-cancelling, and there are times when my ear canals are sore from wearing the Shures too much that I need an over-ear solution. The Bose QuietComfort 15 fit the bill.

The coiled cord is super long, so I do stuff while still wearing the headphones. It sounds ridiculous, but damn is it convenient.

Buying Bose is like buying a fused Kenneth Cole jacket and thinking you a canvassed jacket.

    Ety hf3s right now.

I've used NuForces - they were okay. I think the Ety ER-4Ps had the best sound of any IEMs I've had. Tried RE0s as well.

Head-Fi is really where you can get obsessed over these things.

I like the Bose Quietcomfort noise cancelling phones, awesome on planes and buses. Although as others have said, so much Bose stuff is quite overpriced for what you get. Can't use IEMs, the things never stay in for more than a few minutes, especially with my left ear, plus I found the sealing effect to be quite uncomfortable and nauseating.

Today I picked up my dream headphones the Grado RS-1i. They sound great out of the box but they need 50 hours for break-in.

I'm burning them in with a Benchmark DAC1 and my CD player playing a variety of discs. Right now Squeeze Spot the Difference is spinning.
