    I'll bite...

I've got an aftermarket exhaust on my V8 5 series... It actually sounds eerily close to my friends Aston Martin V8 Vantage (stock), and therefore wouldn't classify it was "tasteless".

that's pretty cool, and the BMW V8's do sound nice opened up. There are good aftermarket exhausts and bad aftermarket exhausts. I've always liked the sound of Supersprints, never really cared for the loud unbaffled 'American' style systems like Billy Boat Tri-flo or Borla.

Curious to see what, if anything, members of a site like this are doing to modify their vehicles. Audio, exterior, interior, performance, etc, what kind of aftermarket stuff are you putting in your car?

BMW Aerodynamic Kit side skirts to widen the stance, 19" alloy wheels copped from the Europe-only E46 M3 CSL that are larger, wider and yet still slightly lighter than stock, and a 3.91 final drive ratio (instead of the stock 3.62).

My Solstice GXP has the GM Performance Package upgrade, basically a factory chipset that takes it from 260hp/260lb-ft to 290hp/340lb-ft, and upgraded anti-rollbars front and rear, but it came with all that.

I've done a few things to my Audi RS4...

    Stasis SL coilovers
Milltek Non-resonated Cat back (valved) exhaust
    TT-RS steering wheel
    10mm spacers front and rear
A complete audio system overhaul (Focal front components, DLS sub and amplifier, EQ, etc.)
Lots of other small mods (performance and cosmetic)

I always replace the audio system. Have an alpine unit in now that I am very happy with.

Doesn't make sense to mod a leased vehicle. The only thing I've added to our MBs is to match the front door windows to the rear tint.

Lingenfelter Intake and Exhaust. Have a pretty good stereo from last car, but not sure I feel like spending what it is going to cost to install (its fairly involved).

Next: rebuild trans w/ upgraded synchros etc., anti wheel hop kit (already cant get power to ground, so first thing is first), short shifter (stock is dreadful). Maybe long tube headers.

I used to be a ricer.

I hope that on the next car I own, the only modification I do is change to a better set of tires.

Absolutely hate to bling-bling my car with over-sized chrome wheels, body lowering, boom box, tinted windows, after market shark fin, fake HID, spoilers, and so on...
+1. I have an '01 Volvo S60 T5. My goal with the car is OEM+. Mostly I've just done mechanical upgrades with some suspension upgrades. Just a few things I've done in the past couple years. - IPD poly motor & transmission mounts. - 17" R-series Pegasus wheels - Bilstein HD shocks/struts - IPD HD spring seats. - IPD anti-sway bars. - Euro Sport Tuning Sport Exhaust.

Sunds like a pretty quick Viper. I love Vettes, Vipers, etc... but I currently drive a 68 mustang on the weekend (hence the name).

I have built (w/ much help from my father) 2 motors for it. Currently it has a 302 .030 w/ AFR Aluminum heads, custom camshaft, coated headers, Keith Black Pistins, build C4 tranny, 9'' w/ 4.11 and detroit locker, etc... It is a fun little car to say the least. Something about the vintage sound of a big cam dumped before the axle and the feeling of every bump on the road through the terribly outdated suspension gives me a thrill!
