I need to keep my head and ears warm when wearing a suit, usually I wear a benie but I suspect this isnt an acceptable style? I'm 23 so I think a fedora or flatcap will be too old fashioned for me plus they dont cover my ears.

Fedoras are never too old fashioned. Ears be damned.

A fedora. A real one, not the fabric mall crap. A good fur felt will run you about $100. Much less if you get a vintage one from e-bay.

And if your ears are really that goddamned cold, get a pair of earmuffs.

Also, they sell flat caps with fold down earmuffs. Some that fold inside, some that fold up on the outside. The former will fit somewhat awkwardly, the latter will make you look like a dork.

But considering how long both soft felt hats and cloth caps that don't cover the ears have been around (some archaeologists think that felt hats may have been one of the first articles of clothing humans developed, along with sandals), I don't think you'll be as troubled by it as you think.

What source of good fur felt fedoras are you thinking of?
