Anyone else notice their cottonwork shirts wrinkle real easily? I have 2 cottonwork shirts, love the fit of both. However they have a tendency to wrinkle. I'll leave in the morning with a crisp, ironed shirt and it's a wrinkled mess before lunch. It's a shame because I love everything else about the shirts.

What kind of material? If it's lighter like a poplin then you're gonna wrinkle a ton, no matter if it's $59 from CW or $400 from Gucci.

You're probably right. The dobby shirt wrinkles an insane amount. Is this to be expected from dobby? (I searched but couldn't find an answer to this). The other is oxford, which doesn't wrinkle as much as the dobby shirt.

Which fabrics tend to be the least prone to wrinkles? Twill? Pinpoint? Any others?

And technically poplin, dobby, etc. are weaves, not fabrics?

sorry, beyond my technical know-how now. I have a bunch of pinpoints and they hold up pretty well. The elbow areas wrinkle (I work at a desk) but the rest looks decent by end of day.

I want to get this forum's opinion on a recent order I placed with CottonWork. I placed my first order with CottonWork and noticed that the sleeve width was not close to my supplied shirt measurements. Specifically, I wanted a 16cm half bicep width but the shirt was 20.5cm.

Customer service asked to ship back the shirt and store credit would be issued to cover return shipping costs. I replied with the following message:

Your instructions are unacceptable to me. What you're saying is: "We've messed up your shirt and if you want us to fix it, you'll need to buy another shirt from us (aka store credit)." This mistake is on CottonWork's part, and I should not have to shell out anymore money. While I had planned on ordering more shirts in the future, I certainly will not if this response is continued.

Here are the two options I find acceptable:

1. CottonWork to refund return shipping costs back to my credit card or
2. CottonWork to ship a new shirt constructed as per my measurements with no return of the original shirt.

I would like opinions. Am I being unreasonable? Is what CottonWork asking typical of any online shirt maker for this type of issue (store credit to cover return shipping costs)?

I've dealt with Cottonwork on numerous occasions, so I may be biased.

I too had the same issue with my first shirt but it ended up being somewhat beneficial to the process. I used their error to correct my measurements further - i'm assuming not all measurements are off (only the biceps). In essence a test shirt.

I have no clue how other mtm shirt makers operate (other than Jantzen, which you probably would never even get a response), but I think it's a fair compromise. Essentially time is your only cost since they will cover your return shipping, fix the shirt and ship it back again.

Hopefully whatever you chose to do going forward works out in your favour!

you must be stick thin.
a sleeve that tight will leave you very little room to bend your arm.

Great news, gents. I adviced Kelvin from CottonWork to make changes to CT's webstore by including search options for fabric weights and thread counts. He promised to do so.
