I went to their website and they comment that they are taking a year off. It seems like a vague statement not indicating if they are permanently closing the company or if they will be coming back. I'm a big fan of their clothes and believe they make the highest quality outdoor clothes in the market. It's unfortunate that not too many know about them.

I'm crossing my fingers but it doesn't seem like a good a temporary closing would be a good sign for long term viability of the brand.

Who knows? They probably looked at the numbers going into winter 18 and then considered F19 production plans and said, whats the point? Too bad. I liked what they were trying to do and the initial products and vision were excellent. They did a brand redo three or four years ago and ditched, or lost, the first creative director and moved to DTC. I wouldn't hold my breath on their coming back.

I'm afraid you might be right. There's no mention of the closing on any of their social media. It came so sudden. I was hoping it was an April Fool's joke.

I think the "back in a bit" exit strategy leaves the door open for a possible rebirth or pivot. Recently there was another smaller outdoorish brand that did the same.

That sounds promising.

What do you think of the fact that they didn't have a going out of business sale? Undoubtedly there remains much of their inventory. Plus they also have a brick and mortar located in Venice, although I'm uncertain if it too has closed.

A rather famous man once wrote the following lines in a book, "How did you go bankrupt?" Bill asked. "Two ways," Mike said. "Gradually and then suddenly."
