I think with this shirt and these pants, it would be smashing.

khaki pants and a blue shirt for a more "collegiate" look ... maybe with a rep tie.

gray flannel pants and a micro check shirt for a more sophisticated look ... maybe with a pindot tie.

And IIRC this one kicked-off the whole "Denim 101 for MC" thread...

I find a burgundy blazer goes well with a glass of brandy, and a naughty little minx.

binge,

Do you live in a college dorm room or something? You bedroom and your bed are quite sparse!

would black pants, white shirt and tie make me look too much of a vallet?

Watching this thread carefully as I will have a new burgundy cord jacket to play with this autumn.

I think a gray POW with burgundy or tan shoes and a white or light blue shirt would go great.

Thinking more... some colours I like with burgundy, esp. very dark, almost purple burgundy:

silver & light-grey (think flannel trousers, or cardigans, or sweaters)
white/ivory (eg shirts, pocket squares)
cream (same)
pale blue (shirts)
camel (scarves, gloves, maybe trousers)
maybe - maybe! - dark forest green (knit tie or other similar accents)
