The man's been wearing the same Skechers that he attached teflon to for either years (the story in Time was what inspired this to begin with, BEFORE they won gold,) so I'm not so sure about that. Anyway, the same questions stand. Shoes should be, before anything else, comfortable, and if they are comfortable on the ice, they are going to be comfortable off, right?

    Rafdidas?

Comfy, not the basic stans, but classic enough so someone not-stylistically inclined would feel ok wearing them all the time in the midwest

Link? And yeah, they are comfy. I have a pair of the White Mountaineering ones, and they are much more comfortable than say, Common Projects. Who says the man isn't stylish bro? Why you gotta do him dirty like that?

Agh seems like the white/white is sold out so unavailable in a full size run...

    Some avail here:

No hate, just going off my first hand experience in the 412 and from visiting Duluth this summer. Great smoked fish.

The guy just won a gold medal. No need to fool around with substitutes - get him white Common Projects Achilles. Unless someone can come up with a MiUSA option.

Can we just get him some aldens and then just point him to the threads on here where people swear that dress shoes can be just as comfy as sneakers??

Epaulet sneakers are considerably more foot-friendly for people with wider get, although they don't have an FSR right now.

Do these need to have a flat sole? Because some Fear of God high tops would be my vote as far as absurdly over-the-top options are concerned.

I like the suede ones better, but I don't know if they're still available anywhere.

edit: Looks like they're still available in a couple of sizes at scattered web shops.

    1) We (or at least I) never mess with substitutes. While Common Projects are the go to in North America and Europe, I really, really, don't think that they are the most comfortable sneakers at that level, and especially not for guys who have a slightly wider forefoot. this from a guy with literally over a dozen pairs of the years.

    2) Yeah, I don't know many Made the the USA options.

    3) I think that they need to come from a place with easy, fast and free exchanges, like Mr Porter, Matches Fashion, or No Man Walks Alone. He has sent his shoe size, but shoe sizes are always approximate, and a "good fit" is always subjective.

I dunno... the idea is nice, but not crazy about the execution. They look a bit orthopedic

Also, low tops, guys, low top. He's ostensibly supposed to be able to curl in these.

I’d have to think that if you called Rancourt and said would they like their sneakers on a social media savvy Olympic gold medialist they’d do whatever was needed to make it happen.

Separate topic: does Tyler get a say here or are we fashion cognoscenti picking out gold lame high tops for him and he says gee... thanks guys...
