1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Why?

To do a Brokeback mountain reenactment?

They never went away, they remain a staple of casual menswear year on year, like a spring summer autumn version of the pea coat. Maybe a little less common recently due to the whims of fashion, or maybe you stopped wearing yours when you joined this site and stepped up your clothes game?

Also the ridicule of the Canadian tuxedo look makes it hard to pair them up as there is a formality gap if you wear most chinos or wool strides. Maybe cords?

Lolol. I just think the denim jacket oozes Americana and that's why I have a soft spot for it.

Still wear one while on my motorcycle, when it is too warm for a leather jacker: feel naked without some sort of jacket protection, gloves etc. However, whatever jacket is worn, is removed while bike(s) are parked. Lost my Levi jacket from the 70's/80's and no one makes a denin jacket the way they used to be make.

Denim jackets are quite popular with the cowboys of Inner Mongolia as well. The US has Marlboro Man, we have Xilinhot Man.

I've actually thought about getting one for wearing on my motorcycle... that might be just enough of an excuse to wear one.

Just stay away from the ones with giant eagles or wolves embroidered on the back! Wearing one on a bike breaks them in pretty quickly also, especially if you take a digger & get some road rash.

Any denim that is not lightweight (featherweight in summer). I was brought up on the heavy selvage junk made on the small looms and it's heavy and uncomfortable.

So you don't own a t-shirt of any kind nor a polo? What do you do when it's >80 degrees and you just need to run an errand?

Perhaps it never gets above 80 degrees F in Montreal? That's Canada, can be a rather cold place isn't it? He also lists that he doesn't wear shorts, sandals/flip-flops or any kind of surfing clothes. AFAIK there's no surfing in Quebec province. No need for any kind of surfing gear in Inner Mongolia either, it's landlocked.

    I don't wear:

    - french cuffs
    - full brogues
    - wingtips
    - paisley ties
    - double breasted suits
    - suede shoes
    - anything with a large or flashy logo
    - flip flops
    - leather jackets

Eh, there's a lot more but they're all pretty obvious ones like denim shorts etc.

I'm starting to re-think paisley ties and double breasted suits.
