What does a shirt size 15½-5 mean?

I got a Brooks Brothers shirt from the thrift store that says "Brooks Brothers Makers" on it, is made in the USA, and the size is 15½-5. It fits at the shoulders and I'm going to get it tailored to fit everywhere else, but I was wondering what the "5" meant. I'd expect a number somewhere between 32 and 35.

Also, eBay has one that is 15½-3 for cheap. I'm wondering if it is also likely to fit in the shoulders.

35 inch sleeve (measured from the middle of the yoke/shoulders down to the wrist). The ebay one should fit the same at the shoulders, but the sleeves will be 2 inches shorter.

Shoulder size is the same for shirts with the same collar size? A Nordstrom employee told me the opposite, that sleeve length determined shoulder width. Also, he measured me at 16" around the neck, but this 15½ seems to fit me, so whatever.

For Brooks, neck size determines torso and shoulders.

15.5 inch collar size and a 35 inch in sleeve measured from the middle of the yoke.

Ah, I didn't know it depended on the brand. He was talking about Nordstrom shirts, so maybe he's right.
