What do you wear to one of those business park "churches"?

It's a rare chance for some distant family time but it's folding chairs.

Anyhow. I'd wear a suit but I'm thinking pleated Dockers and a polo (lowercase "p") shirt might be overdressing for this place.

My standards or ...when in Rome?

Been there. Be sure to bring in your soda from 7-11 and something to munch on during the service too.

I'd go with chinos and a sport coat, no tie. You'll be overdressed but at least be kind of sticking to your principles.

I was raised in the Catholic church in the midwest.
We were taught by the nuns that you always 'dressed up' for Mass: to show respect for God.
We wore ties and the women wore dresses. Always.

Although I left the church a long time ago, on those rare occasions I go to mass I'm always astounded at how shabby the parishioners look.

Maybe I'm just too old.

Kind of funny statement, considering the believes and looks of the founder of this religious community.

shirt and tie, no jacket

Short sleeve?

I went with gray wool pants, pink shirt, navy w/pink stripe tie, navy shawl collar pullover sweater and suede bomber.

One pastor wore a 3 button, pleated pant, light gray "Steve Harvey" . Everyone else was dressed for recreational activities featuring weight lifting of the 12 ounce variety.

The lady behind the coffee counter was a most pleasant exception.

Coffee counter?

Oh yeah. They have little cafes in these places, now. It's all about getting tithing customers into the cushy seats. The drummer was pretty good, lead guitar was adequate but the bass was nearly non-existent. The vocalists were ... well. Charity begins at home, I suppose. I always feel uncomfortable applauding the choir in church but felt no need in this instance.

"Steve Harvey" was fairly entertaining in his explanation of the 5th of the 10 commandments.

I tried to judge not, lest I be judged but I guess I've been following WAYWRN for too long.
