    Hello everyone,

Recently I started a website/blog called to provide information/advice and inspiration on menswear.
There aren't a lot of articles or how-to's on the website till now, so it's mostly inspiration and essentials.
I am trying to update the inspiration page daily and do some regular posts to keep it interesting.
For example: Every monday I post a "Get The Look" and once a month I write something about the style of a movie character.

I asked a lot of friends for feedback and advice. However, my friends aren't experts and most of them tend to 'sugarcoat' it.
I hope you guys can provide me with honest feedback on the website and hopefully some advice on how I can improve?

Also, I am very curious what you value the most in websites and blogs?

Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice!

What I value (or what i see) most is the amount of smoking taking place.
I once heard a gentleman say that he started smoking because of the way it made the outfit come together! That he was sacrificing his health for style.

Unfortunately, I haven't got a lot of response to this thread.

I understand it is not as interesting to give someone feedback on a blog as giving someone comments on his new suit or look.

However, I would really appreciate it if some of you fellow style enthousiasts would provide me with some feedback.

Thank you very much in advance for responding,

    Kind regards,

    Dapper Edition

I expect if you'd been a long-term and valued member of this forum, people would be very glad to help. But instead I have no doubt that most people see you are just some guy who has joined SF to get free market research for his project, like so many others. So I wouldn't expect too much if I were you.

    From your Dapper Edition blog....

Is Nick Wooster trying to dress like Greengrass from Heartbeat?

That's what I think of when I see surplus army greatcoats been worn by civilians.

    "Oh no!!"

You got a great blog and I really can't find a problem with it. The images represent your taste (and mine as well) and that's what blogs are suppose to do.

If you are worried, the only comment I have is that you are short on the commentary. I know Your taste for menswear thru your blog but some personal relevation or why your like an item or when you discovered it will make the blog more personal. Most popular blogs put this on, dieworkwear, mr porter journal have such elements which you site is lacking. Yet not everybody can write so that's your call.

I understand your concern, however this is really not my intention.
I actually joined SF to get inspiration and share my thoughts and perhaps knowledge with other menswear enthusiasts.
In any case, my apologies for the inconvenience and the trouble.

Thank you for your feedback, it is really useful.
I will try to add some more personal preferences and thoughts in to the articles.
I will also try to write longer comments with the pictures.
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

Er... maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, 38R, but you're not really showing a meaningful difference between "fashion" and "style" (are the two supposed to be opposites? can the difference between the two be expressed by a lone photo for each, anyway?) You're showing two outfits which are just as affected in different directions from "classic" menswear. One guy is wearing a skinny black tuxedo with a clip-on bow tie. One guy is wearing a purple patterned tuxedo with a large bowtie and pocket square.

Anyway it's no skin off my nose, man. The guy seems just as interested in both classic style and contemporary fashion as most menswear blogs... (though he's obviously not an expert, which is fine by me, too).

    Thanks for the feedback!
I follow style, I don't like the skinny look either, but my post was not about the skinny tuxedo like your comment.
Off course, the lapels of the tuxedo were more slim than the average Tom Ford tuxedo.
However, in my opinion style is not specifically a matter of width of lapels.
I think a distinction can be made between a more British and a more Italian style (I actually like both).
For example; I think Sean Connery as James Bond has a great style, is that fashion since his lapels aren't 8/9cm wide?

sorry i didn't make myself clear, Do you follow a general aesthetic of putting together looks from different makers to achieve a unique, timeless look that you could wear in the future? that looks like a man chose it for himself? -style
, or something a shop girl (or man dressed as a shop girl) with horrendous make-up would tell you looks good, and next year is old? that screams "this was the thing to wear in 2013" -fashion.
like this year it is Tom Ford.
your blog looks well put together
, but the skinny tux is sooooo now. what about the future? fahion changes seasonally. style does not.

where do you stand? maybe you could be the model for your website and become a leader, because nick wooster's clothing is [IMG]
so what do i want to see in a blog? -your style. and maybe some interviews with people whom you consider to have style. even old guys.

This is actually something I can take into account and improve.
My goal is to make a unique hopefully timeless look everyone could wear.
I understand you think that I sometimes lack focus of a particular style?
It is sometimes difficult, since I don't want all my posts to be about Italian suits with wide lapels and a natural roll.
For example; I like to write about selvedge jeans as well.
But I will think about what style I specifically want to communicate.
I will definitely post some interviews soon, actually thought of approaching maybe some bespoke tailors for an interview.
Thank you for your time and feedback 38R!
