I wouldn't wear it with any sort of black tie. Some kind of a solid navy knit could work...

Yea I was wondering that as well. But since the stripes are black, i thought the black tie would suit it better.

And if anything, it would be with a navy blue jacket or vest.

I see shirts like this all over the place. You should be able to find one to look at in person. For myself, I don't like that sort of striping. I have one that's similar and I don't really wear it... I could see it with some sort of green, if you don't want to wear blue. But not a great design in terms of versatility.
